Solar Decathlon

This summer Dale volunteered on Santa Clara University's entry into a national solar house competition, Solar Decathlon. It was a great experience for Dale. He learned a lot about house construction and had a fun time hanging out with the college students building the house.

The Santa Clara house is known as the Refract House. Here's a video overview:

Here's a time-lapse video of the building of the house. Dale picked out when the solar panel he worked on appeared on the house.

And finally, Dale achieved his 10 seconds of fame. There was a construction completion celebration on Tuesday. Dale left school early to attend the event, accompanied by his father. Channel 7 news was there too. Check out the link to the news report below. See if you can find Dale. He has become quite famous for his fist pound! If you look even closer, you just might be able to see an old man from Michigan wandering around.
