Knock on Wood
The site has been up and running for roughly 24 hours...
I hope I am not jinxing myself, considering I have done absolutely nothing to solve the problem of the site becoming unresponsive.
Ok, I did jinx myself. Literally minutes after posting this message this morning, the web server became unresponsive. I did more researching and found a website that described my problem exactly and stated it was a problem between ZoneAlarm and Apache. Not sure why the configuration worked at one point, but I have decided to replace ZoneAlarm. I have made the changes, my machine seems to be as secure as before. Now we shall see if the problem has disappeared for good.
