Hi Tim...Just reviewed the site. It is very user friendly, AND, I especially like the easiness of your comment section. I often want to give my input to a site, and there's no return/email/comment site. Oprah has one that's not too bad. The Democrats don't have one that I have found yet, despite my many contributions to the cause! Also appreciate your humor quotient in many areas.
Am quite surprised at your venture into the country music area. I love the Dixie Chicks as they have songs with lyrics and good tunes and they stand for something...Chesney does not impress me. In fact, the only really good music with melodies and lyrics seems to be coming from women in country music. Thoughtful, relevant, etc.
In the "popular" scene of teens like Avril and rap crap, it seems pretty geared to the younger crowd. As we know, it's the boomers who drive the economy, and that's why record sales are down. Even Madonna's latest release is flat. One younger one, Michelle Branch, isn't bad, and I even bought the Pink release last year. Also smart lyrics, but, yikes, to look at her!! Don't get me started on rap crap. And it has nothing to do with my age, it's the fact there is no "music" and the lyrics are horrible. I agree that the expression of inner-city lost souls is valid, but, to me, it belongs in the category of poetry--like Def Poetry Jam on HBO.
Hey, not all '70's disco was crap...the BeeGees have some absolute CLASSICS for all time from them. Rappers on VHI's top 200 Pop Icons this week say so!! And James Taylor is an ICON!
Well, hasn't this been fun..rambling on bias toward and for music types??!!
Cute pix of the ticket sellers. Do you know one of your old teachers sells tickets at the Van Buren County Fair? Miss Maston, each year for 10 years. Strange where we end up after retirement, eh? She also works at the Hartford Public Lib. where I recently turned down the director's position for the third time in three years. Pay is peanuts for full time and 50 weeks. Can't sell myself so cheap. May have to eat my words if push comes to shove, someday!
Meg is coming home July 31-Aug. 12. Might work a couple concerts, one in Maine and one I don't know where. Her college buddy/roommate, Liz, who has been teaching in France, is home for the month, and she wants to visit.
Tristan, the workaholic, trudges on. What is it about those Virgo's anyway? What's your upfront, personal view?
B. is working on the library roof leaks/reshingling. Also, window sash, etc. and painting trim.
Glad you are having summer fun at all the shows. You didn't mention Phish at Mt. View recently?!
Love, Sandy

Sandy,
You were surprised by my Country Music tastes...
but I bet you would be even more surprised that I enjoy Eminem (in fact listening to The Eminem Show album, as I am typing this comment)
